Taking Nonprofit Boards To The Next Level
Board Development & Professional Teaching
There are many different kinds of boards of directors, yet training can help at any level. Our consultants will work with your leadership to understand your board’s needs and opportunities for training. This may include basic fundraising techniques or a focus on strengthening leadership among your board members. Beyond training, our consultants can offer facilitation services for nonprofit boards, staff, and volunteers, as well as professional teaching.
· Staff, Board, and Volunteer Training
· Group Facilitation (e.g., Board and Staff Retreats)
· Curriculum Development
· Lecturing and/or Guest Speaking
No matter the project, our consultants will work with you to talk about the project goals, expectations, timelines, and communicate regularly about these aspects throughout the process to make sure we are on target.
Boys participating in Boys' & Girls' Brigade programming
“The Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade is a 115 year old organization serving Fox Valley area youth. Our focus has been on program opportunities and camp operations. When the board recognized the need for a Development and Marketing plan we spent 6 months interviewing consultants to find a good fit for our needs.
Jennifer was an easy choice; she came to us with an open mind, a listener’s ear and a visionary’s ideas. Jennifer took the time to learn the fine points of our organization and its history, traditions and people. During this critical fact finding phase, she was actively engaged with our board and development people to help us through the process and set us up for long term success.
We have confidently moved into the implementation stage of our development plan with Jennifer’s continuing oversight. In just one year we are excited about our progress and look forward to our continuing relationship with Jennifer as we now consider her a vital part of our team.

“As a small nonprofit, we face the all-too-common challenge of tackling an ambitious mission with a small staff and less-than-optimal budget. With humor, enthusiasm and encouragement, Jennifer Skolaski guided us through a strategic planning process that has tightened our focus, engaged our board and expanded our pool of funding opportunities. Jennifer’s ability to help busy executive directors hone in on how to make the biggest impact given limited time and resources is remarkable – she is a wonderful coach and mentor. Jennifer helped us take our organization to the next level, and I recommend her to any nonprofit looking to do the same!
